“Book Worms” Brings Books to Life

Trenton, NJ (November 8th, 2008) – The event is hosted by a group of local visual artists who gained notoriety for using their art to enhance community life. They are not afraid to use term graffiti to describe their art, because they have demonstrated positive impact of their work on areas surrounding their installations. The city governments in number of cities work closely with members of Albus Cavus collective not only on new murals and works of public art, but also on organizing events that interactively include young residents. Philadelphia Inquirer showcased August art event in a factory in Trenton as a creative way to showcase artists’ talents and also to organize day full of activities for local families. Event in New Brunswick on September 20th was sponsored by the City of New Brunswick, Rutgers University and Middlesex County of Cultural Heritage Commission and resulted in a cleanup and reopening of a mile-long bike path that is now fully decorated with murals painted by more than 100 artists.
The artists to bring their art from the streets to the books. “Book Worms: Urban Art of the Book” will showcase artwork by local visual artists on old recycled books.
